When did the exact moment arrive when reality became so complicated to comprehend?
''In the Name of Algorithm'' is a photographic project that blends 3D images with real photographs. This duality is the focal point: where reality no longer exists, it has been killed and replaced by a universe of non-places, where one is no longer certain of what lies ahead.
The landscape is completely altered, represented by 0s and 1s; the sky is a LED panel displaying the image of the Moon, and under the sea, schools of fiber optic cables swim. Man claims ownership of nature in the name of the algorithm.
The technologies presented are advanced and often mimic natural forms, seeking to serve as a bridge to the future. However, it is seldom considered that, in the end, everything is controlled by humans, the only ones who can decide how to use these devices.
The viewer is invited to observe the analogies that emerge between the biological and the technological, to construct the meaning of technologies, conglomerates of aluminum and silicon."
